A Note from Our Leadership
On Sunday, February 4, 2024, we hosted one of our largest events since our founding in 1911. "From Home to Homeland: An Evening with Noa Tishby" invited people from all corners of our metroplex to mourn October 7, reflect on our Jewish identities, and rejoice in the spirit of our local community.
More than 1,200 attendees gathered at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in downtown Dallas for the program (View the photos here). As we reflect on the success of the evening, this number - 1,200 - should not be lost on us. Every chair in the crowded theater represents an Israeli killed on October 7, 2023. The impact of such a loss would be catastrophic and wide-reaching in our community, and it is not difficult to imagine the ferocity with which we would fight to find justice.
Our featured guest, bestselling author and former Special Envoy for Combating Antisemitism Noa Tishby, discussed October 7 and the resulting wave of antisemitism that followed. The needs of our Jewish community, both locally and overseas, surfaced throughout the discussion, but a consistent and hopeful message continued to appear: where Jewish people are in need, Jewish Federations will be there to help. From implementing new security measures at local Jewish agencies to leading the response in times of crisis to supporting the programs that connect and improve our community, Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas is there.
We are here, now, and we will continue to gather our community, fight for justice, secure Jewish spaces, and respond to crises thanks to your generous support. JFGD aims to represent all our diverse voices and advocate for safe and meaningful Jewish life, and we cannot achieve this goal without your participation. Thank you for helping us ensure a stronger and more vibrant Jewish community in Dallas, Israel, and throughout the world.

Meet Our Featured Guest
Noa Tishby
Bestselling author and former Special Envoy for Combating Antisemitism and Delegitimization
A Tel Aviv native, Tishby served in the Israeli army before landing a starring role on the nation’s highest-rated prime time drama, Ramat Aviv Gimmel. After becoming a household name in Israel and appearing in numerous TV shows, films, theater productions and fashion campaigns, Tishby moved to Los Angeles, where she sold the Israeli TV show In Treatment to HBO, which made history as the first Israeli TV show to become an American series. “In Treatment” was nominated for fourteen Emmy and Golden Globes and won a Peabody Award.
Tishby has been a leader in pro-Israel activism in the US for over a decade, founding and initiating several organizations and projects, including Act for Israel, Reality Israel and Eighteen, an institute to combat antisemitism and inspire Jewish pride. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth, and is among the best known pro-Israel figures on social media, her content reaching millions of people daily across all platforms.
Tishby resides in Los Angeles, and she is the proud Jewish mother to her son Ari.
